Maintenance planning is the process of determining what maintenance work needs to be done and how it should be done. It involves identifying the parts and tools required for the job; writing out the tasks and instructions necessary to complete the work; estimating the time required to complete each task; purchasing any required materials, equipment, or services; using maintenance history records to determine the best course of action; and considering any other factors that lead to the safe and accurate completion of a work order.
