The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a global navigation satellite system (GNSS), operated by the United States Space Force branch of the United States Armed Services, that provides positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) measurements. In maintenance management applications, GPS technology is used with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software to track the locations of assets and employees.
