A material safety data sheet (MSDS), also referred to as a safety data sheet (SDS) or product safety data sheet (PSDS), is a safety document required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) that provides end users with procedures for safely handling or working with a particular hazardous substance. It conveys chemical safety and hazard information to people who may be exposed to or store dangerous chemicals, including instructions regarding proper protective equipment, how to handle spills, first aid information, storage and disposal requirements, and information about the general health effects of the substance.
