An asset hierarchy is a visual representation of how assets within an organization relate to one another using parent-child relationships. Depending on the level of detail, asset hierarchies allow maintenance professionals to identify maintainable assets, their related subassemblies, and related parts and components that comprise the asset’s bill of materials (BOM).
